I cannot believe it. I am officially 30. Here's some of the great things I've been hearing:
"30 is when life begins"
"You are part of the club now"
"Oh my that is when everything started going down hill"
"Its no different than your 20's"....
Well I have had many mixed feelings about 30. Part of me is thrilled- I feel like every year my life seems to get better & better so how can this be bad?! Some people have the time of their life in high school or college, I guess I was a late bloomer because mine has definitely been later. I feel much more confident with myself & feel as though I have hit some type of monumental "I have arrived!" moment. Yet on the flip side, I see wrinkles forming & have found that I have to work much harder to stay in shape than I once did. I can think 30 but to say it makes me want to puke in my mouth. LOL! Me, really? 30?! (can't be)
So awhile back Jason asked me, what I wanted to do for the big 3-0!? I had no idea! I am not the surprise party kind of girl. He knew that would be the death of him! Then it hit me, (I love adrenaline...) I want to ride roller coasters all day long & act like I am 15 again. SO, my nieces hooked me up with passes. Mom took Karly all day and we headed to 6 flags. I have not been on a roller-coaster since I have given birth. Note to self: might need to bring Depends with me next time! I so totally pee's on myself after the 1st hill! LOL. (TMI, sorry!) Best part was I used my 14 yr old nieces pass to get in. The guy looked at me then looked at the pass "Oh you, young beautiful Lauren, so young, SO beautiful!" haaa! Made my day!!!! The day I was turning 30 I passes for half my age. ROCK ON! We had SOOO much fun! It could not have been a better day- I loved every minute of it! That night Jason & I headed out for dinner and a concert. It truly was exactly a perfect day for me & to much surprise me informed me that he was taking 4 days off to spend with me!!!! Hallelujah!.
1st coaster in nearly 5 years.... the 1st hill was killer! |
We have made a week of it just spending time together, having a little "Stay-cation". We've gone shopping, trips to the market, afternoons in the pool... exactly how I wish everyday should be.
Had a party with my family- was a little more traumatic than planned. I was vacuumed up by our pool, leaving a HUGE hickey on my leg (& I have a feeling its only going to get worse) Note to self: never drop the vacuum cleaner hose! SOO much pain! The stupid thing was totally suctioned to my leg, all I could do was scream! traumatic, but needless to say memorable! It was all made better with a little cake & presents.
after the attack of the killer pool vacuum... looking a lil rough! |
The year of new decades! :) |
I am not sure what is in store for me at 30, but I have a feeling that greater things are yet to come & I am excited to see what is in store! Although I will now be using night cream & anti aging lotions, Its all good! :)
